At Northern we understand how important it is to nurture the children’s emotional development. However not all children find this easy and we have support at hand. Vicky is our Early Years Emotional Literacy Support Assistant, or ELSA. She works with children across the setting to help them learn about their emotions and how to manage them. Vicky also supports some children in a weekly group where they spend more focussed time in a calmer, quieter environment where they can develop their emotional awareness through an individual plan of stories, structured play and sensory activities.
